A product is a single SKU or item in your catalogue. Variants (e.g. size/colour) count as separate products. So a t-shirt in 3 sizes and 2 colours would be 6 products.

A product variant (e.g. a t-shirt in Red/XL) counts as a separate product towards your plan limit. This keeps things simple and predictable. Variants are linked together so you can manage them as a group in the UI.
